Heliodorus LLC was founded on a simple idea: TPAs shouldn’t have to choose between quality actuarial work and operational flexibility. We built this firm to be the kind of actuarial partner you need — technically rigorous, easy to work with, and genuinely invested in the plans we touch.
Alex Free is an Enrolled Actuary with a decade of experience in the pension industry. Based in the greater Los Angeles area, Alex has dedicated his career to delivering exceptional retirement plan solutions for a diverse range of clients.
Alex has specialized in the administration and review of a wide array of retirement plans, including Defined Benefit, Cash Balance, 401(k) Profit Sharing, and Combo Plans, with participant counts ranging from 1 to 100.
Currently serving on the Joint Board for the Enrollment of Actuaries Examination Committee, Alex brings strong technical knowledge and a commitment to excellence to his clients.
A proud graduate of the University of Colorado and a Los Angeles native, Alex values both his professional and personal life. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing hockey, and baking.

Anya Free holds a doctorate in History and brings a researcher’s discipline to the business side of Heliodorus LLC. She manages firm operations, strategy, and marketing, and is the reason the firm is named after a Roman actuarius painted on a clay ceiling tile nearly two thousand years ago.
